 My boy loves him some sand!  He scoops it out of his sand table with a shovel and puts it straight into his mouth.  Should be an interesting summer at the beach.  Atleast I won't have to pack any snacks!

Swim Lessons

This is Sydney's second year of swim lessons and she's loving them.  We had a rough start the first night.  She slipped under the water when she was trying to get in the pool and was pretty shaken' up.  After Ryan's pep talk, she got back in the water and was soon smiling again.  It's been neat for us to see the way she's progressed.  That first night she was glued to her teacher and the 2nd lesson she was off swimming on her own with a bubble on her back and a noodle.  Now she's down to just the bubble!  Unfortunately there's only one more week to go, but atleast the summer is right around the corner!

 Cole so wishes he could be in that pool swimming with Sydney. . .pretty soon buddy!

 It took her a couple of weeks to be able to hold onto the side by herself.

 Tonight was the first night she swam on her back by herself.

Cole's 1st Birthday Party

This past Saturday we celebrated Cole's first birthday on his actual birthday.  All week there wasn't any rain in the forecast and wouldn't you know, just as the party started the sky grew dark and the rain poured down.  Oh well we still had fun all stuffed inside.

 We had a monkey themed party for our little monkey!  Here are the little party favors.

 Cole was so funny as soon as we started singing "Happy Birthday."  He fixed his eyes on Jeff D as we

sang.

 He wasted no time and picked that cupcake up with 2 hands and shoved it into his mouth.  Thank goodness he left both pb cup ears behind.  Mommy didn't think that one through when she gave him his cupcake.

 Along with it being Cole's first birthday, it was also the Kentucky Derby.  Ryan came up with this great idea to write all of the horse's names on cups and we wrote our names on slips of paper and put them in the cup of the horse we thought would win. 

 Cole got a chance to be a jockey as he sat on Damon's knee.

 Becca and Julia D ended up winning since they picked Animal Kingdom.  While the horse race was going on, the girls were playing a little dress up.
